ITINERARY
Day 1:ARRIVAL
You will be met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro by your driver/guide and our representative We will take you to the Mount Meru Game Lodge, a fantastic and atmospheric lodge with its own adjacent wildlife sanctuary. Animals such as zebra, ostrich and various antelope can be seen wandering by whilst you enjoy a tea or a soda on the lawn. Day 2 : Arusha National Park
Today you will take an excursion in the nearby surroundings of your lodge, meaning you can relax a little, sleep a little Longer and have a relaxed morning hours. After Lunch drive to Arusha National Park, Arusha National park, lying between the peaks of Kilimanjaro and Meru, Arusha National Park is an area of outstanding beauty. The Park has a wide range of habitats, from the string of crater lakes where many water birds can be watched, through the highland montane forest and on up to the imposing summit of Mt. Meru. Day 3 : Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast you depart for Lake Manyara National Park. You will have full game drive, after spending most of the day in the car you might enjoy a leisurely stroll along Kirurumu River which has to be crossed on large rocks a couple of times. This is a great chance to get out your vehicle and explore this beautiful area on foot. Later you will drive towards Ngorongoro. Spend the evening at Ngorongoro Farmhouse, an rustic old farmhouse at the outskirts of Ngorongoro Conservation Area with large rooms which comfortably sleep a family of 4. Black rhino tours recommend dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm house. Lake Manyara is a beautiful little park which is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants and large troops of baboons. The park is home to an amazing variety of birds and animals considering its small size. A short visit to this serene park will greatly diversify your safari experience as the lush green jungle habitat is of stark contrast to the other parks you will visit during your safari.
Day 4: The Ngorongoro Crater
This morning you drive a short distance to the “eighth wonder of the world”, the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera on earth. The floor of this collapsed volcano spreads for 102 sq. miles and the walls are 2,000ft high. You will have picnic lunch inside the Ngorongoro Crater With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farmhouse, an rustic old farmhouse at the outskirts of Ngorongoro Conservation Area with large rooms which comfortably sleep a family of 4. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals – including elephants, warthogs, flamingos, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.
Day 5:Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. En route you will visit a Maasai Boma (traditional village) where some Maasai Warriors will welcome you, show you around and explain their traditional life. They will also show you their famous jumping dance and invite you to join in if you like! You can also see inside houses, meet children, ask questions and take photos! The Serengeti National Park is the world’s last great wildlife refuge as it contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature’s wonders. The area covers 14,763 sq kms and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai ‘Siringet’, meaning endless plains.
Day 6:Return Serengeti-Arusha
After last bush breakfast at your camp we take you to Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti, for your flight to Arusha, you will have your lunch and later transferred to the airport for your flight either back home or to your next supplement destination e. g Zanzibar, Mafia Island, Bagamoyo or Southern Parks.
